A few observations

So we still have no luggage, no word of luggage being found or anything of that sort...BUT today turned out pretty swell. We woke up and had omelets, fruit, and rice for breakfast, hit up a little shopping for an outfit seeing how we wore the same outfit for two days, and got some sweet delicacies for sooo cheap. After buying a skirt and some fresh panties (hallelujah) we all decided to treat ourselves to an hour long Thai massage (only 400 baht= $11). That is a picture of all of us pre-massage in our cute little pajamas they gave to put on. Oh my gracious people...this little man massaging me was like a jumping spyder monkey on my back twisting, pushing, and squeezing my body in every way possible. It was heaven, then we had a salon in the mall wash and style our hair, since we obviously have nothing with us currently to do so ourselves. I suddenly became a new person--which was needed because I just felt nasty wearing my same travel outfit (gym shorts, T-shirt, and chocos) with my hair french braided into two pig tails.

Okay now we need to talk about lunch, and how I came to the realization that I may just lose the weight I've been trying to!! We walked around the food court of this huge 6 story mall we spent the day at...and I was absolutely disgusted. I decided for my first real thai meal I'd go pretty basic and get Pad Thai, but even that wasn't extremely enjoyable. I knew I didn't like asian food, but for SOME REASON I believed I would love Thai food. Not so much. Now I've only had one meal (breakfast was complimentary of the hotels and didn't fully count) so maybe I will find a few dishes and learn what I like. But of this moment and time...I don't know how I am going to survive for two months on this stuff. I hate the smell of it-ugh. Now what made up for my whole thai food experience today was the dessert we had after lunch. You pour cocoanut milk over sticky rice and eat it with fresh mango--instant pleasure. I could honestly eat that for every meal if I had too, and after lunch I may just do that. Did I mention lunch only cost 1 American dollar? Yeah mom and dad...I'm SAVING money by being here!!

Lastly, I spent my first day in Thailand just observing everyone. The girls are exactly as I expected, some of them are very stylish with cute little baggy clothes, and others wear multiple colors, patterns, socks, high heels, (typical "american-asian" style we think of) and etc. The males though are VERY VERY stylish. Everyone likes to make fun of my Theta boys, but they are actually caught up with the world of fashion. All the guys wear straight, jagged, shaggy hair with skinny jeans, high tops, vnecks, and scarves. SO SO cute, but they all weight 100 pounds. Everyone is extremely polite and they enjoy us trying to speak thai-which I constantly do. I learned to say hi, thank you, count to 10, dont worry about it, how much, bathroom, cold water...and tons more. I'm catching on to the language pretty quick, and if you haven't heard it, it sounds very whiney. Okay I don't want to ramble on and bore you in only my second blog, but I shall be back tomorrow to tell you all about the "floating market" and "dinner cruise" we are going on tomorrow :)
